Ran this morning with Mia and Abel then we talked forever and then ate doughnuts...thanks to the goodness of Abel's heart.  I wanted to get mileage in because I have to get my stinkin wisdom teeth out tomorrow and wont be able to run for a while. Booo.

Ran a 1 mile warmup and today I only ran 3 because of my wisdom teeth and coach wants me to take it easy just in case.

Ran a mile warmup.  Today I ran 5 just around the track and watched the girls progression run.  I felt super bad about not being able to do it but Coach Houle didn't want me to.

Ran a mile warmup then ran 6 with my team out on the dike.  It was a good run and nice to go on a full run with my team.

Mile warmup.  Ran Cross Hollows with the team again.  Another good run, kinda hard with all the really long hills but it felt good when I was done.

Today was the 6 minute test.  Pretty much you run on the track for 6 minutes as fast as you can.  I got a total of 1646 meters...which isn't too shabby but also not too amazing either.  I honestly felt a bit out of it just because this was my first speed workout from coming back from my wisdom teeth.  I'm determinded to do better on our next speed workout though.  After the test we ran a small loop on campus and then ran around the track so we could watch the boys do their test.

Today we got together as a team...well we had a sleepover so we already were together.  Anyways, we went running at 8:30am and planned on going 10miles but I had to turn early because my ankle is really killing me. My shoe is really irritating it and I either need to get thicker socks or different shoes.  Its just like my shoe is rubbing weird on the back of my ankle and so it feels super sore and hurts to run.

So today we had a workout.  My group, which is the 5k/1500 group, ran 400's.  Guess how many.  Go ahead and guess.  ....Twenty!!!  20 freakin 400's!!!  He said that and I thought I was gonna die!  We had 4 sets of 5 400's.  The first set was at 88-91seconds.  The second was 85-87 seconds.  The third was 82-84seconds and the last one was as fast as you could go.  I stayed in the 79-81 range.  Half way through I felt super dizzy and pushed through the 3rd set but when I finished that I went to Coach and told him I felt super dizzy and he told me it was probably just a side effect from the workout and that I knew my limits better than he so he told me to decide.  Well I had done 15 and only had 5 more so I decided to give it my best and I ended up finishing the workout.  It was so hard and I thought I'd die after each one, but I'm so proud of myself for pushing through and finishing it.  Our mileage added up super fast and I ended up running a little over 10 miles

Today we had another speed workout.  We had to run 2 miles at 80% which is 5:45-6:15 pace so we started on the track and ran a mile then out and up to Zions Bank.  There we stopped for a little bit waiting for the light then we immediately started the canyon run which is 2 miles as fast as you can go up the canyon.  I felt okay but going up some of those hills my legs would just give up and wouldn't let me go fast...it was really frustrating.  But I got a new PR for the canyon run which is really good considering I was by myself for most part.

My body is SO tired.  I feel like I did when I first started running and everything was sore.  These speed workouts everyday and weights are kicking my butt.  But I'm going to get better and better so this is all worth it!  Today we had 2 sets of 400,800,300.  I kinda like this workout but I was already so tired from our other workouts so I knew it'd be hard.  I did well but not as well as I wanted and should have.  My mind is having a hard time beleiving that I'm capable of doing such high intesity stuff and it's really showing. So coach pulled me aside and we talked about it and he told me I really need to start believing in myself and thinking about my goals everyday.  So that's just what I'm going to do!  Because I really want to get better and do well this season!

Today I recieved a wonderful surprise!  No speed workout today!  Man, I was so excited!...kinda bummed because I wanted to do another workout with trying to change my mental attitude but also happy to go on a normal run.  We ran on this trail up the canyon then back down and we made a little stop at Great Harvest for a free sample of bread.  Sooo good!  Tomorrow we head to Idaho State for our first meet!  Yay!

Ran in Idaho today!  We ran to Idaho State's campus from our hotel...we kinda got lost and had to ask for directions from a lady in a coffee shop and she pointed us the right way.  Once we got there, the indoor track wasn't finished being set up so we had to go to their outdoor track (which was rather rundown and creepy looking) and do our 400's.  So we did 2 400's to get our legs going for tomorrow and then 3 starts after that. Then we ran back to the Holt Arena and stretched.

So today I ran my very first indoor meet.  I ran the mile at the beginning and coach set us individual goals...mine was 5:25.  I felt great racing but my legs didn't feel as great as they normally do.  I think the 4 days of speed workouts really took a toll on them.  I'm not too impressed with my time but I'm just going to brush it off and look to my next race and do the best that I can do.  Because I know I'm capable of so much more!  I've never done such hard workouts and so I know it's going to all pay off eventually.

I was supposed to run the 3k also but Coach Houle pulled us out of it last minute because the guys 3k was taking way too long and we needed to be getting home.  I was really bummed because I was excited to run my first 3k but there wasn't much I could do.

Today I ran 7 with my Pine View friends.  I decided to just go ahead and do 1000's with the girls and ran with Mia and she did really good on them.  Lets be real, all the girls did really well!

Today we had a workout, woo!  We had 6 800's and the pace was nice so our break was only 90 seconds.  After the first 3 it got pretty hard and it was only me and Ashley Hawkes doing them.  She'd make me lead the first lap then she'd take off and I'd do my best to stay with her.  I stayed pretty consistent though and the last one was faster which was good.  It was a good workout as far as workouts go!

Today we ran a normal 50% run up to Bicential Park.  Coach and Nigel met us at the park just to make sure we were on pace and had good form.  I guess our pace isn't fast enough though so Coach cracked down on us and really wants our pace on 50% runs to improve.  It's going to be difficult adjusting to a faster pace but I know it'll pay off in the end.

Today we ran pre-meet, which was basically a 400 at a faster pace than our race for tomorrow  (the 1k) and then three 50 meter starts.  Then we just finished our mileage and ran Main Street.  I felt good and I'm excited for the meet tomorrow!

NAU Indoor Meet today!  I ran the 1k...no one has ever raced it on our team so it was a totally new experiance.  Coach told us that we needed to hit under 3:20 and he'd be happy...and also buy us dinner.  We were in the faster heat and it was all SUU girls and one girl from UCLA.  The UCLA was super nice and also super fast so her and Ashly Hawkes just went at it up front...I think Ashley ended at a 3:05.  But I stuck with Dayna and I felt good and I felt like I gave it my absolute all. Coach was really happy with how we did so it was a nice start to the meet.

Today was the second day of the NAU meet.  I ran the mile which was the first event at 10:45.  Our heat went out super slow and the first 2 laps were so so so slow.  And because of those 2 laps everyone got awful times...so awful that I'm not going to put it on this blog.  Coach wasn't very happy with us.  But I learned that I can't just sit back and be intimidated by college girls who I thought knew what they were doing.  Rather, I have to just go off my own pace and take the lead if I have to.  It was a bummer of a race but I learned valuable lessons from it.

Ran our form mile then today we had high mileage plus 2.  So I went 10 miles.  I only had time to do 6 then I turned around and had to meet with one of my proffessors then when I got home Dayna was about to go running so I went and ran my last 4 with her.  I felt really good and my legs weren't tight or tired even though we've been bumping up our average speed.

Ran the form mile then today we had a speed workout.  We had 8x800's with 90 seconds of recovery.  The goal time for us to hit was 2:45-3:00 so it wasn't too bad...just after doing so many of them you get pretty worn down.  I kept pretty consisten through all of them even though I wasn't feeling quite up to par due to the fact that I ate two burritos right before I ran....yeah...bad idea.  But I didn't even throw up and I did my very best with what I could do.

Today we ran the Dikes run at just our normal pace.  I felt good but my calves got super tight so afterwards I got rubbed out and the guy who did it was super nice and actually did it gently then I took an ice bath and it felt a ton better!

So yesterday I got a super nasty sore throat and decided not to run so I could get rid of it as quickly as possible.  And today we drove up to Idaho for our meet and I was feeling a lot better.    Anyways, we ran a mile then did our pre-meet stuff and Kaylee and I (since we're both racing the 3k) did 2 400's then our starts. I felt super tired after doing that so I'm a tad nervous for how tomorrow is going to feel.  After pre-meet stuff and watching our team race a group of us got together and ran back to the hotel.
